EASYKART 60 – C FINALS - VICTORY GOES TO THE POLISH DRIVER BIERNACKI

At the end of the warm-ups, the first race of the day concerned the drivers of the C Final. The track was still wet and the Clerk of the Course ordered to put on the rain tyres. The drivers of the C Final were competing for 6 places entitling them to take part in the B Final and possibly go on to run the International Easykart Finals. Roman Daniele Verde spurted from the pole position, followed by Pozzoli, Di Fabrizio, Noviello and Polish driver Oskar Biernacki. At the small hairpin bend after the timekeepers’ office, Pozzoli and Metta spun through 180° and were forced to get back onto the track in the rear positions. In the 2nd lap, Di Fabrizio attacked leader Verde, but he was on the wrong trajectory and favoured Biernacki, who managed to overtake them both. In the 3rd lap, Di Fabrizio tried to catch up, but he sent his kart into a spin and lost even more ground compared to the leading group, dropping to the 5th position. During the 4th lap, Glowacki recovered and passed Verde, thus becoming 2nd; at this point, the race was led by a Polish pair. During the 6th lap, Verde, of the Vfr team, hit a curb too violently and lost the chain, which forced him to withdraw. In the course of the 10th lap, the leader of the race Biernacki had a lead of 5” over his fellow countryman Glowacki, who was ahead of Di Fabrizio, Noviello, Montemagno, Pozzoli, Metta, Tufaro and Iannacone. During the next lap, Montemagno spun round, too, however managing to get back onto the track right away. In the 12th lap, the head-to-head scrimmage to conquer one of the 6 available placings for the qualification eliminated Alex Romoldi from the race, as he ended off-track at the railway bend after a contact with Metta. The chequered flag went to Oskar Biernacki (who recorded also the fastest lap), winning with a lead of 6” over Glowacki, while excellent Di Fabrizio was 3rd. The other drivers entitled to run the B Final were Noviello (4th), Pozzoli (5th) and Montemagno (6th). The results list further included Tufaro, who ended 7th, then Iannacone, Metta and Rimoldi.
