COUNTDOWN FOR THE MOST EAGERLY AWAITED EVENT OF THE SEASON

THE EVENT
The International Easykart Final is the event which assigns the titles obtained in each category at international level; it is a world-class event. Based on the results of the National championships managed by the individual ASN, the best drivers of each continent are admitted, from Europe to America, Japan and some Asian countries. Italian drivers will once again get the lion’s share; in this occasion they will also compete for the Italian absolute title. The 2006 edition will take place on the track of Jesolo (Venice), which boasts a prestigious tradition and is the venue for several title races. Thanks to the relevance of this event, the highest authorities of the individual National Federations and all Birel’s management will converge on the Venetian track. As usual, a first-class organisation will guarantee that the event is given top prominence. To take part in an International race is a unique experience which guarantees a great added value for each driver, particularly for the very young ones of the categories 60 and 100. All categories will be on the starting line: 50, 60, 100, 125 Light,125 Heavy and 125 Shifter. The event will feature free trials on Friday and Saturday morning, qualification heats on Saturday afternoon and the races during Sunday. The whole event will be covered by a very high-profile promotion plan.

The Track
The track is 1045 metres long, alternating a technical section with three 180° bends and a fast section with a succession of bends leading to the long finishing stretch. The first section facilitates overtaking, such manoeuvre being essentially possible at each braking, whereas in the fast section slipstreams are very important because they can allow one to gain many engine revolutions in the following finishing stretch. The tarmac is completely new and is devoid of any imperfections, and the same goes for the kerbs which, in all sections, can be tackled with no problem. As far as trim is concerned, this is a typical track on which a balance between the slower and the faster sections must be achieved.

The Programme
On Friday the free trials will take place, with 10-minute shifts for each category and a 15' session (Long run) early in the afternoon. This arrangement was agreed upon with the teams which have expressed the wish to stay on the track for a longer period of time at the same time as qualification heats and races will take place. On Saturday morning there will be two further free trial sessions, then in the afternoon the two qualification heats for each category will take place. Sunday will see the start of the final stage of this event with the warm up and the first races; in the morning the "C" and "B" Finals will take place (which will qualify the last 6 drivers for the International Finals), then in the afternoon the Races which will assign the titles will be held. At 13:30 the drivers’ presentation ceremony will be held, which will involve all drivers and which, similarly to the past editions, will feature the main national anthems and an engaging choreography. A great novelty is the presence of the 125 Shifter; the first owners of the new gearbox kart will get on the track together with some guests. According to International regulations 34 drivers will be admitted to all Finals.

Programme for Friday, 13th October

Media
More than 20 accredited newspapers, the staff of Birel’s press office and a television production by a national broadcasting channel will guarantee a high profile event. Particular attention will be given to the television front which, similarly to last year, will feature a live broadcast on a maxi screen specially positioned for the public. Moreover, the whole weekend of races will be featured in a Magazine published by Birel’s press office.
