EASYKART 100: DOMINIC SCHEER AHEAD OF THE ITALIAN MONTORO
THE AMERICAN WINS THE INTERNATIONAL TITLE. THE ITALIAN, SECOND IN THE INTERNATIONAL RANKING, WINS THE ITALIAN TITLE IN FRONT OF ZANCHETTA.

The Italian Marco Zanchetta, sprinted ahead from the pole position ranking before the American Scheer, Montoro, the American Péna, Christian Fossati and the Colombian Jacobo. Due to a not so perfect alignment at the start line, Scheer suprised Zanchetta and took the lead. Péna drove by at 3rd in front of Fossati, Montoro, Jacobo, Valori and Lopez. A hook-up in the centre of the group involved various drivers among whom the American Champion Paul Harraka who was forced to withdraw. At the 3rd lap, Zanchetta successfully attacked Scheer and brought himself in the lead. Fossati, who in the meantime had overcome Péna, also tried to get into the heart of the race, but his chain fell off after a hook-up with Scheer. It took the FM driver three laps before getting back into the race, meaning the loss of one of the best participants in the race. The lead was made of the trio, with Scheer managing once again to overtake Zanchetta and Montoro and meet up with the leader duo. Further back, Péna made his mark by preceding Lopez, Zonzini and Guffanti. At the 10th lap, a technical problem excluded the Ecuadorian driver Freire and the Colombian Jacobo. The current National Champion Ronnie Valori and Giacomelli, who were running an excellent race right behind the leaders, were also forced to withdraw at this stage. At the 10th lap, Francesca Linossi slewed around forcing Barri onto the lawn, but both were able to continue the race afterwards. At the 11th lap, Montoro overtook Zanchetta and 4 laps later the AV Racing driver managed to bring himself at the head by overcoming Scheer as well. But the American answered right back to this attack and immediately regained the lead with a resolute overtaking manoeuvre at the end of the start straight. At this point, Zanchetta lost some ground to the two leaders, but kept his distance from Péna. At the 20th lap Scheer had 1” lead on Montoro, 4” on Zanchetta and 8” on Péna. Behind him, Lopez was in front of Zonzini, Guffanti, Barri, Angonoa, Gambini and Francesca Linossi that was experiencing her personal battle with opponent-friend Sabina Raviglione. By the last laps, Scheer was able to control Montoro and cut the finishing line 1st , becoming the International Champion. Davide Montoro was second in the International ranking, but also attained the Italian National Title in front of Zanchetta. For the Team AV Racing driver there was the added satisfaction of having completed the fastest lap in the race. Sergio Péna won 4th place overall in front of Lopez, while Nicola Zonzini was an overall 6th and 3rd in the National Italian ranking. Giacomo Guffanti finished the race with an excellent 7th place, right in front of Barri, Angonoa and Gambini. Francesca Linossi struggled in an "all-ladies” battle with Sabina Raviglione attaining the 11th place overall and the 8th place in the National Italian ranking. Mattia Ferri was 10th in the Italian National ranking in front of Pedrotti, Valentini and the unlucky Christian Fossati. The Colombian Martin Sala, instead attained 14th place because he was slowed down by rib pain.
