2nd EASYKART EUROPEAN GRAND FINALS MIEDZIANA GORA (POLAND), 19th-22nd AUGUST 2009

THE ITALIAN HYMN PLAYS FOR MATTIA DRUDI

The pilot, native from Romagna, dominates the 60cc class, while Poland wins 100cc and Shifter classes with Kowalski and Szczpanik, to Russia 125 Light class with Timofeev and the Heavy one with Smelov

The Polish circuit of Miedzana Gora, not far from Krakow, hosted the 2nd edition of the European Final of Easykart which saw five classes of Birel, more than 120 pilots from 12 different countries fighting for the title. 16 were the pilots from Italy, the majority of them in 100cc where also the pilots of Easykart Driver Program, Bertonelli and Cunati competed. The man of the weekend was Mattia Drudi with pole, title and fastest lap. The young man of Drumel Kart, author of an exceptional season in Italy where he is going to win both the championships, gained his first international title and now presents himself as one of the favorites for the World Final which will be held in Siena next 18th October.
On the podium with Drudi there were also the Russian Zirkov and the German Waldherr while the other Italians (Sampieri, Vitali and Ucci) ended just out of the top ten. Also in 100cc the Italian hymn was ready to play but the unlucky Andrea Fontana was forced to retired by a technical problem. Then was the turn of Daniele Rosa that fought till the end with the Polish Kowalski (running for the Italian team Emilia Kart) who won. On the third step of the podium there would have been Riccardo Geltude but unluckly, few laps to the end, a contact with the Russian Bolshiv made him go back to the 7th place. But the bad luck of an Italian did good to another one, Dario Orsini who recovered from the 14th place to the 3rd one. Then followed Manackij, Labecki and Srdinko, while a technical problem stopped Cunati and a contact relegated Bertonelli to the 9th place. 125 Light was dominated by the Russian Kramarski who after having gained the pole, led the race till the break down of the fender and forced him back to the box and gave the victory to Timofeev. The 2nd and 3rd place went to the Polish Bosak and Zaniuk. Unlucky the Italian Nadin (out at the first lap) and Da Riz who broke the chain when he was in 2nd place. Russia gained a double title in Heavy class with Smelov and Diwak, while Poland gained it in Shifter with Sewerin and Patryk Szczpanik, first and second soon before Rzucidlo. In this category great performance of Simoni, the only Italian out of 20 finalists who ended 4th after a duel with Rzucidlo which captured the attention of the whole public. Great success also for the 50 Training program with 18 kids, one of them the Italian Linty.

60 EASYKART  - EUROPEAN FINAL

Mattia Drudi dominates the scene

Form the first line Mattia Drudi (poleman) and the German Sophia Floersch stepped out faster than any other. But the lady of the Emilai team did not make a great start and was overtaken by Malczak, Grudzinski, Garstecki e Zirkov. Bad start also for Waldherr, just 8th while Drudi did it all perfectly and gained immediately the leadership- during the 1st lap a contact made the Russian Sitnikov stepped back while his compatriot Zirkov made two overtakes and gained the 2nd position. Druidi is extra fast and at the 5th lap already had 2’’ on the Russian behind him; in the 3rd place there was Malczak followed by Grudzinski, Malyshev, Javurek, Reicher, Garstecki, Waldherr, Zalewski and Floersch. During the second part of the race Druidi kept on gaining time from Zirkov (5’’ of advantage) when the attention of the public shifted on the challenge for the 3rd place where ten pilots are fighting: from Malczak and Malyshev to Grudzinski and Floersch. Great recovery of Ucci and Sitnikov who made great times. In the end Drudi won the race and gained the first International title of his own career with 7’’ of advantage on the Russian Zirkov. Also exceptional the 3rd placement of Waldherr who won over Malczak and the Russian Malyshev making also the fastest lap of the race. Garstechi ended the race in 6th place then there were Grudzinski, Javurek, Zalewski and the Austrian Reicher (10th). 11th placement for the German Floersch follone by Herbec, Svoboda and Havasi, penalized by a contact during the first phases of the race. Great the 15th placement of Ucci, started from the 24th, as well as the 16th of  Bielecki ending before Karkosik, Krencisz, Sitnikov and Panas.

EASYKART 60 - Final "B"

Eighteen pilots competing for one of the six places useful to run the continental Final in the afternoon. During the first phases of the race, the Polish Bielecki led the competition before his compatriot Podobski and the Czech Svoboda. Behind them Morawski and the Italian Sampieri, Mochnacki and the Russian Gleb, who made a great start from the last places. The most exciting battle was for sure the one for the 2nd place between Bielecki and Podobski, who arrived at the finish post in the very same time (11:07.724), even if the position will be given to Bielecki who was the first during the previous lap. The victory of Bielecki, instead, had never been put into discussion. Gleb ended a great race in the 4th place while Sampieri missed the top six after Morawski, Tomasz Wojcik and Panas. Vacha ended at the 9th place, then there are  Filip Wojcik, Tatar, Antoszewski and Cegielski. But the ranking will be completely revolutionazied by the Sport Commissioners during the post race due to the exclusion of Podobsky and Gleb for a technical incongruity; in this way Panas and Sampieri (7th and 8th at the end of the race) qualify themselves for the European Final.

100 EASYKART - EUROPEAN FINALS

Unlucky Fontana, the title goes to Kowalski

The first line of the European Final of 100cc class was all Italian, with the pole gained by Dario Orsini follone by Daniele Rosa. Thanks to and hesitation of Orsini who had a problem which relegated him to the 15th position, Labecki gained the leading place. Also Cunati was forced to retire during the 6th lap due to a technical problem as well as Kalinowski involved into a contact. Great start for Rosa and Kowalski soon behind the race leader and before Fontana and Geltrude. Leader of the race during the 2nd lap was Rosa but few after the Alemar pilot lost the position in favor of Fontana. Rosa lost the leading position and had to fight with Kowalski not to lose more. Geltrude, in the 4th place, follone before Labecki, then there were the Russian a pilot of Alemar team gained the first position Bolshikh, Rzeplinski and Bertonelli. During this race phase, a spin right round stopped Iannacone and soon later a contact will make problems amongst the followers: Labecki turned back involving also Bertonelli. During the 15th lap Fontana was still leading the race with 4’’ on Rosa and Kowalski and Geltrude, in 4th position, had to defend himself from the Russian Bolshikh and Manatskiy, while Dario Orsini is back to the 7th place. The race was not still over: at the 16th a technical problem forced Fontana to retired (even if one of his laps was the fastest). Rosa and Kowalski engaged an hard competition till the end when Kowalski succeed to win just for 3’. For Poland, the hosting country, this is the first title, while Rose collected another success in this great season. The 3rd placamento would have been for another Italian but unluckly, few laps to the end Riccardo Geltrude had been rammed by Bolshikh ended at the 7th place. The Russian was forced to retire and so his compatriot Manatsky gained the 4th place. In this way Dario Orsini took the 3rd place after an unlucky beginning. Then there were Labecki and Srdinko. Amongst he top ten there were also Smaga (8th), Pastorok (9th) and Wisniewski (10th). The Italian Iannacone ended his race at 14th soon after Tokar, Osmera and Rybin, while Bertonelli is 16th behind Stawiarski.

125 LIGHT & HEAVY - EUROPEAN FINALS

Double for Russia with Timofeev (Light) and Smelov (Heavy)

Light and Heavy classes run together, Light run only since a couple of years in Poland and no Heavy, as well as in Austria and Czech Republic, which are very interested about the European meeting arranged by the Polish Federation. The poleman (and 2008 winner) Kramarski started the race leading it before Bosak, Da Riz and Timofeev. Thanks to a spin right round made by Bosak during the 2nd lap, the leader gained the race since the very first phases of the competition, 10 meters before his followers. During the 5th lap Da Riz was 2nd with 5 tenths of minute to recover on Kramarski, while Timofeev was in 3rd position before Ilona Zaniuk, Bosak and Cezary Zaniuk.  Soon after Smelov, winner of the Heavy class, run as the best pilots of Light class against his main challenger Divak. Missing the Italians, with Nadin forced to retire by a technical problem. At the 13th lap also Ilona Zaniuk was forced to retire nullifying a great competition, and a little after Timofeev overtook Da Riz and gained the 2nd place. Little more and Timofeev had the title in his pockets while Da Riz stopped a few meters before the checked flag due to a technical problem. In the end Timofeev brought the Light class title in Russia while Smelov did the same with the Heavy one. At the 2ns place of Light there was Bosak, before Cezary Zaniuk and Kapkowski, while Da Riz ended in 5th placement. Honor in Heavy class for Dimak.

125 Shifter - EUROPEAN FINALS

Poland dominates with Szcepanik brothers

Sewerin and Patryk Szcepanik dominate the scene during qualification and double during the main race leaving their challengers fighting for the third placement. At the starting point Patryk had an hesitation and Rzuclidlo overtook him. At the third lap the couple of Szcepanik brothers was back again with Sewerin leading the race gaining the necessary margin to win the competition. For the third placement, exciting was the challenge between Rzucidlo and the Italian Simoni, who fights for 28 laps till the photo-finish test which see the Polish 3rd for just 2 tenth of minute. Anyway, Simoni made an excellent race and will be the most expected Italian to the World Final in Siena. At 5th place ended Maksimkin who, during the first phases of the race was the protagonist of a hard head to head and a contact with Priochniak (who ended in 11th position). Komakowski won the 6th place , then follow Kohout, Nowak and the Austrian Maurer.
